The process of replacing or repairing the steel plates on the outer shell (hull) of ship. The hull is the main body of the ship, responsible for its structure, strenght, and bouyancy. Over time, due to factors such as wear and tear, corrosion, and impact from harsh sea conditions, the steel plates that make up the hull may become weakened or damaged.
